In the end, while harassment is never fun, that wasn’t ultimately the real problem. I realized one morning that part of Twitter’s algorithm feeds on negativity, and that even if I went days without looking at my notifications (which I often did), I’d waste so much time just wallowing in the negativity of my main timeline, and I wondered how much time I had wasted being overwhelmed by the world as funneled through the Twitter algorithm, which is designed to make you angry and sad. I don’t understand how people in “the resistance” are able to stay angry. For me it turns to sadness and depression pretty damn quickly.
So, I deleted it. I may expound on this at greater length later.
